Dr. Kober joins Shoreline Psychological, LLC as a unique Psychology Fellow. Though Dr. Kober received her PhD in Psychology from Columbia University in 2009, with a focus on Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, she is currently working towards a respecialization in Clinical Psychology. Before joining Shoreline Pyshoclogical, LLC, Dr, Kober trained at Yale’s Intensive Outpatient DBT program and at Yale’s Continuing Care Clinic.
Dr. Kober is an Associate Professor at Yale University, where she is the Director of the Clinical & Affective Neuroscience Lab. Dr. Kober’s research work focuses on the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying emotion regulation strategies, and treatments for psychopathology, more broadly (e.g., substance use disorders, eating disorders, mood disorders, and borderline personality disorder). Additional research focuses on the effects and neural mechanisms underlying mindfulness meditation and acceptance-based practices.
