Clara Mesa, LCSW

Clinician

Clara Mesa is a Colombian-American, bilingual Clinical Social Worker, who completed both her Bachelor’s degree and MSW from Boston College.

She joins Shoreline Psychological as a part-time contractor, while continuing a full-time position at Yale as a college care clinician. She employs culturally sensitive and affirming therapeutic interventions in a range of specialties including trauma, anxiety, depression, acculturation issues, and identity exploration. Clara draws on a variety of evidence-based modalities—such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused interventions, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—to support meaningful and lasting change.

Over the past 10 years, Clara has developed her therapy practice working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in community mental health settings. She has a particular interest in helping individuals navigate interpersonal relationships, strengthen emotional regulation, and enhance communication skills in both personal and family dynamics. Clara fosters a safe and inclusive environment to help each individual embrace their strengths, navigate challenges, and achieve their fullest potential.

Outside of work, Clara lives in New Haven and loves exploring the city’s diverse food scene and traveling locally and internationally.
