Katharine C. Bernstein, Ph.D.
Clinical Supervisor
Dr. Bernstein is a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical supervisor who first joined Shoreline Psychological in 2017 as post-doctoral fellow. She is passionate about delivering warm, compassionate, evidence-based treatments to individuals, families, and groups with a variety of mental health problems. Dr. Bernstein is an expert in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She is also an expert in the treatment of trauma and is trained in dialectical behavior therapy-prolonged exposure (DBT-PE) as well as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). In her free time she enjoys playing guitar, singing in a choir, skiing, and horseback riding.
Dr. Bernstein received her undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, and her doctorate from St. John’s University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Village for Families and Children. She also trained at the CARES program at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Montefiore Medical Center School Based Health Program, and the St. John’s University Center for Psychological Services. Dr. Bernstein is fluent in Spanish and welcomes Spanish-speaking clients.
All sessions with Dr. Bernstein are conducted remotely, offering flexibility and accessibility.
